Mission / Vision

The mission of Seven Fires is to spark change by nurturing the fires of Indigenous stewardship, reigniting Indigenous sovereignty, and forging lasting relationships of solidarity.
Like the controlled burns our ancestors used to rejuvenate the forests or usher new growth on the prairies, Seven Fires is an organization committed to dismantling systems of oppression in a way that creates opportunities for healing renewal. We are tending to the fires of three primary areas — Stewardship, Sovereignty, Solidarity — in order to spark change for a more equitable future.
Learn more about our work:
Stewardship
Working alongside Indigenous communities in reclaiming their roles as stewards by expanding and shifting the concept of economics beyond money and re-centering our collective responsibility to each other, the world around us, and future generations.
Sovereignty
Supporting Indigenous women with stepping into their own sovereignty by providing opportunities to gather and nurture one another in community while considering ways they can shed oppressive ideologies and operate more fully as themselves and as leaders.
Solidarity
Honoring and celebrating the vast ecosystem of those working around the world by amplifying and uplifting aligned partners and extending an open hand to those whose work intersects with ours in the movement toward equity.
